Xiaomi 17 vs Motorola Edge 70 Pro+: Why I Chose Motorola Despite the ₹42,000 Price Gap

Summary

The Xiaomi 17 and Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ reportedly share the same camera hardware, yet there is a massive ₹42,000 difference in their prices. While Xiaomi offers a more budget-friendly option with similar camera capabilities, I’ve decided to go with the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ for its overall premium experience, design, software, performance, and feature set.

Description

Choosing between two smartphones with similar camera hardware can be challenging, especially when the price difference is as high as ₹42,000. The Xiaomi 17 and Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ showcase how smartphone buying decisions go beyond camera specifications alone.

Although both phones offer comparable camera hardware, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ stands out as my preferred choice. The decision is based on the complete smartphone experience, including premium design, performance, software experience, display quality, and other flagship-level features.

For users who prioritize value and want strong camera hardware at a lower price, the Xiaomi 17 could be an attractive option. However, if the focus is on a more premium overall experience and the additional features justify the higher cost, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ becomes a compelling choice.
